Refrigerated transport without transshipment

An unbroken cold chain
From loading point to delivery point

Refrigerated transport without transshipment

With refrigerated transport without transshipment your cargo is loaded into the reefer trailer at the shipper and only comes out again at the delivery address. No interim storage, no cross-dock handling, no second round of loading and unloading — the cold chain is never interrupted along the way.

That difference is decisive for food, dairy and pharmaceuticals. Every transshipment means open doors, a temperature rise and one more handover point where something can go wrong. On a direct run you have one carrier, one temperature log and one contact for the entire route.

RBH Fracht runs these direct refrigerated trips from Germany and the Netherlands to Scandinavia and the rest of Europe — including to Norway and Sweden.

What transport without transshipment covers

Direct refrigerated runs (FTL)

A complete reefer trailer reserved for your cargo. The trailer is pre-cooled to the agreed temperature, loaded at your shipper and only opened again at the delivery address. It is the safest form of refrigerated transport and also the fastest: no waiting at a cross-dock, no dependency on other shipments.

Refrigerated part loads with few stops

If you do not need a full trailer, we plan your pallets onto a refrigerated run with as few loading and unloading points as possible. Your goods stay in the same trailer; only the doors open briefly at the intermediate stops. No transshipment, no interim storage.

Temperature logging and proof

The cooling unit records temperature for the whole trip. On request you receive the printout on delivery together with the CMR consignment note. For consignees in the food and pharmaceutical sector this is often a hard requirement on goods receipt.

Refrigerated transport across Europe

We run temperature-controlled loads to Scandinavia, within Germany, the Benelux and Eastern Europe. For non-EU destinations such as Norway or Ukraine we also handle customs clearance, so the trailer does not stand still at the border longer than needed.

The difference
Why transshipment is a risk

Without transshipment means without interruption

In a classic refrigerated network, cargo is handled two or three times: from the collection vehicle into the depot, from the depot onto the line haul, and at destination once more onto the distribution vehicle. Every handover is a moment where things go wrong:

  • Temperature rise while pallets sit on the dock
  • A gap in the logging between two cooling units
  • Extra handling: damaged pallets and damaged packaging
  • Unclear liability when the deviation only surfaces on arrival
  • Additional transit time from waiting at the depot

A direct run without transshipment removes all of that. One trailer, one temperature log, one carrier accountable for the result.

How we work, step by step

1
Set the temperature
The required temperature and tolerance are fixed in the transport order in advance.
2
Pre-cool and load
The trailer arrives pre-cooled at the dock so the cargo does not warm up during loading.
3
Direct run with monitoring
Continuous logging and GPS tracking; if anything deviates we contact you ourselves.
4
Unload with the log
Delivery at the unloading address, with the temperature printout attached to the consignment note.

Answers to your questions

Frequently asked questions about transport without transshipment

What exactly does refrigerated transport without transshipment mean?

Your cargo is loaded into the reefer trailer at the loading address and only taken out again at the delivery address. There is no interim storage and no transshipment at a cross-dock or depot. The same trailer and the same cooling unit cover the entire route, so the cold chain is not interrupted.

Which temperatures can you run?

From chilled (+2 to +8 °C) for fresh produce and pharmaceuticals through to frozen goods. The required temperature and the permitted tolerance are recorded in the transport order in advance, so that driver and cooling unit are set correctly before loading starts.

Do I get proof of the temperature during the trip?

Yes. The cooling unit logs continuously. On request you receive the printout on delivery together with the CMR consignment note. For consignees in the food and pharmaceutical sector that is often a condition of accepting the shipment.

Is transport without transshipment also possible for a part load?

Yes, with one caveat. For a refrigerated part load we plan your pallets onto a run with as few loading and unloading points as possible. Your goods stay in the same trailer — nothing is transshipped — only the doors open briefly at the intermediate stops. If you want to rule that out too, a complete reefer trailer (FTL) is the right choice.

Which countries do you run refrigerated loads to?

Across Europe, with an emphasis on Scandinavia and Germany. Frequently requested are refrigerated transport to Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. For non-EU destinations we also handle customs clearance, so the trailer does not stand at the border longer than necessary.

What does refrigerated transport without transshipment cost?

The price depends on distance, loading metres, the required temperature and the delivery window. A direct run costs more per shipment than refrigerated groupage, but saves rejected goods, waiting time at the depot and arguments about liability.
